The outlet held that his salary has been "causing a stir" after it was revealed that he will earn approximately $5.1 million (6 billion won) for the project.
"Jade Lover" is a fantasy romance series set in the 1930s, according to Yonhap News Agency. According to Wellamde Yedang, Lee Jong Suk's agency, the series will be produced by Jin of the South Korean terrestrial network SBS and Hong Kong media group DMG, the agency added.
The publication reported that the actor has been actively looking for projects after the success of "Pinocchio" early this year.
"He's also looking at scenarios for other domestic movies and TV dramas for next year. Soon, he'll decide on which project to join, and will return to the South Korean TV," the spokesperson explained.
In other news, Kdramastars reported that Lee Jong Suk was having second thoughts about renewing his contract with Wellmade Yedang. It was said that the actor was thinking of becoming a free agent.
Given that he is no longer just a fashion model but a rising actor, Lee Jong Suk was reportedly on the look out for an agency who could represent him better.
