Xiaomi Redmi 2 has been one of the best devices to launch in 2015, and now its possible successor with the model number 2015811 is listed on TENAA. It is expected to be the entry-level Redmi 3. Chinese certification and regulatory authority TENAA has just certified the Xiaomi Mi 2015811 with its key specifications revealed.

An octa-core 1.5GHz processor powers the Redmi 3 that sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixel resolution) TFT display with same HD resolution. Xiaomi Redmi 3 will have a metal body instead of polycarbonate body, which will give a premium look to the phone. It supports dual SIM dual standby using a hybrid SIM slot where a microSD card is placed instead of the second SIM.

Xiaomi Mi 2015811 also features 2GB of RAM and 16GB expandable internal memory with a microSD card slot for storage expansion of up to 32GB. Its camera has 8MP or 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front selfie shooter with a measurement of 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box with MIUI 7 overlaid and weighs 143g in three color options of gold, gray, and silver.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS, and a microUSB 2.0 port.

The Chinese upstart company Xiaomi will miss its target of selling 80-100 million smartphones at the end of this year. But the company can still cross the 2014 sales of 61.1 million devices because it had sold 34.7 million devices in the first half of 2015. High sales are not expected in the coming years because of the increased local competition and slowed-down sales.

No official information from the company, and no confirmation on when it will hit the markets, but Xiaomi Redmi 3 is expected to be launched in the next few weeks since it is now listed on TENAA.
