Huawei is looking forward to increase its output by about 20% and ship 120 million smartphones in 2016.
In 2015, the company shipped over 100 million smartphones including the Huawei P8, P8 Lite, Mate S, and Nexus 6P, which is their biggest seller especially in western markets. The company unveiled the Huawei Mate 8 for the international market at the recent CES 2016, after announcing it in China back in November. A mid-range smartphone Huawei GX8 from Huawei was also announced.

Huawei Honor 5X was also launched last week. It will be available later this month for less than $200. This makes the company in good shape to hit that 120 million shipping mark, which it is aiming 2016. This would not be easy - but neither was shipping 100 million Huawei smartphones last year, marking a 44 percent from 75 million shipper a year earlier. The company is ranked as the third-largest smartphone vendor in 2015 following Samsung Electronics and Apple.
The success of the Huawei Nexus 6P has helped the company establish its brand image in many markets where it was not even strong before, particularly in Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Germany . The company is looking forward to expanding more outside of Asia into Europe and America. No specific numbers regarding Nexus 6P sales has been given by the company, but it is thought to be definitely doing well.
Shipping 120 million smartphones this year will not be easy, but Huawei can definitely do this since it is now the biggest smartphone manufacturer in China, reclaiming the title from Xiaomi. Xiaomi and many other smartphone makers in China are still up to challenge and are, in fact, getting even more competitive this year, which is great for consumers.
If there is competition, then there is innovation. So this normally means lower prices for better phones and newer features that many users might not see without competition.
