Gionee S6 Now Available in India for Around $295

Chinese company Gionee has officially launched its latest Gionee S6 mid-range smartphone in the Indian market. The Gionee S6, which was unveiled back in November 2015, first made its way into the Chinese market with a price tag of about $266.

In terms of the specifications, the Gionee S6 handset features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen with a 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution. The phone sports a metal body with thin side bezels, and weighs about 147 grams, measuring 151.9 x 74.6 x 6.9 mm in dimensions.
The Gionee S6 runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system alongside the company's Amigo OS 3.1 on top. The handset sports a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel camera on the front.
Inside, the S6 comes with a Mediatek MT6753 processor along with the Octa-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, and the Mali-T720MP3 graphics processing unit.
The chipset is accompanied by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in memory storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card), and a 3,150 mAh battery. Other specs include dual-SIM functionality, support for USB Type-C port connector and LTE connectivity. The Gionee S6 comes in silver, gold or Rose Gold colors.
In the meantime, the Chinese company is planning to introduce a new smartphone, the Elife S8, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.
The Elife S8 is the successor to the Elife S7 model that was launched last year and a new member of the S series. This device recently made its way into the Geekbench along with the model number GN9011 .
