Basketball News: Xinjiang Flying Tigers Demolishes Tianjin Gold Lions in CBA League Round 38

The league's second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tigers smashed the 18th ranked Tianjin Gold Lions with a 45-point margin, lopsided 145-100 victory in the 38th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in Urumqi on Friday night.
The Flying Tigers controlled almost the whole game, with the Xinjiang team dominating the shaded area. Xinjiang scored a team-combined of 78 points down low during the game compared to the 54 points made by the Tianjin squad. The Flying Tigers also ruled the rebounds department with a 46-22 edge including a 32-14 advantage in the defensive rebounding.

Xinjiang made 28 of the 35 free shots given in the foul line, shooting 80 percent accurate from the stripe. The winning team also has displayed good ball movement and a well-organized offense with 25 assists compared to just 12 passes made by the Gold Lions.
With the win, Xinjiang maintain there second place in the team standings sharing the spot with the Sichuan Blue Whales with both teams having the same record of 30 wins and 8 losses. Xinjiang and Sichuan are one victory behind the league's current leader Liaoning Flying Leopards with 31-7 record.
The former Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns point guard Bryce Cotton scored a game-high 40 points with 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the Flying Tigers, while the naturalized Filipino hotshot Andray Blatche scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Chinese center Su Wei registered a double-double game production of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Yu Chandong finished the rubber match with 18 points, rebounds and 2 assists.
Domestic players Wang Lei and Korambek Makhan also finished the game with a double figures scoring night for the winning ballclub.
On the other hand, Chinese forward Meng Xianglong scored a team-high of 22 points, while center Yu Gang and Zhang Zhihan netted 17 points and 16 points respectively for the Gold Lions team.
