An improved battery life is the most anticipated improvement in the Samsung Galaxy S7. The Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to have a bigger battery based on an FCC filing. This could mean that the smartphone will have one of the best battery capacities currently on the market.
Based on supposed leaked images, the Galaxy S7 will also adopt the Galaxy Note 5's curved back with a nearly flush camera design. The features of this upcoming device includes 3D Touch technology, S Pen support, wireless charging and a keyboard cover. Typical upgrades include the phone's camera image and video quality with an improved sensor to boost low-light shots, a new Samsung Exynos octa-core (8 core) processor and a Qualcomm chip under the hood for some variants. As expected, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will likely sport a larger screen size as well.
Meanwhile, the Apple iPhone 7 could possibly have a new dual-lens camera with LinX Imaging technology and optical zoom. It is also rumored that Apple will get rid of the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack for a Lightning connector port or a new wireless headphone design based on Beats technology. Typical upgrades include a faster processor and a substantially improved battery life. Other than these, the iPhone 7 is not expected to come with any significant changes from its predecessor.
Samsung and Apple will still fiercely compete against each other when it comes to performance, camera technology, battery life and design. We will have yet to and see which 2016 flagship smartphone is the ultimate winner in the next couple of months.
