The Apple iPad Air 3 is said to feature improved speakers and a Smart Connector with a Smart Keyboard just like the iPad Pro. The iPad Air 2 successor is also expected to have a slightly bigger and thicker screen with a 4K resolution support, rear-LED flash, Apple A9X SoC with 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants.

It is also expected to sport an 8 MP iSight rear camera and 2.1 MP front snapper, four speakers and a new Apple Pencil stylus support with a smaller, but the same 27.3 watt-hour battery. The upcoming Apple tablet will be released in space gray, gold, silver and possibly rose gold color variants.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and sport a 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution with two screen sizes - an 8-inch and a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy Tab S3 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, which could be Snapdragon 652 and will also have an Adreno 510 GPU with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, 8 MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, HDR focus, full HD video recording and 2 MP front snapper. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 could possibly come with microSD support just like its predecessor.
