Rockstar Games has recently released details referring to transferring Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression. In fact, the developers confirmed that users' data would be interchangeable. Meaning, users would be able to upload their data from one system to the next. Rockstar has confirmed that players would be able to transfer online and single player mode data from either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, over to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and or Windows.
Allowing the data to be 'interchangeable', Rockstar states that users will have the option to transfer data from PlayStation 3 to Xbox One. This statement confirms that not only will there be an update, but that there will be no limitations on players switching from Xbox to PlayStation consoles or vice versa.
All of this is very exciting news for Rockstar/GTA fans. However, it only answers questions on one particular subject. What some users are asking is if Rockstar will support cross-save capabilities for the game. In other words, will players be able to switch between any platform or console of their choice with the ability to keep playing from the latest save point.
Some argue that this data is saved to each player's ID, so it is a possibility. This would all rely on Rockstar's decision to which direction they want to go in.
After a recent discovery while a user was going through the game's code, there are now widespread and certain details of upcoming DLC. This alleged DLC include comedy clubs, zombies, arena maps, casino, custom car events, and more. Though Rockstar cannot deny that these items were in fact in the game's coding, the game developers and techs are keeping this information hushed, leaving it all up to speculation. This leaves many open questions from users and fans to Rockstar Games.
Grand Theft Auto V will be released in the late half of 2014 for Windows, PlayStation4, and Xbox One.
