The upcoming Apple iPhone 7 is likely to be released without a physical home button. Images of an iPhone without the 3.5 mm headphone jack and a physical button recently surfaced the Internet.

If this is true, the next-gen iPhone will have a biometric recognition feature or a fingerprint scanner integrated into its screen. It has long been speculated that Apple will remove the iPhone home button to make the front panel an entire display.

The iPhone 7 is expected to come in two models: the high-end iPhone 7 Plus (or iPhone Pro), which is said to feature a dual-lens camera module, and the regular iPhone 7.

A leak circulating online shows the back panel of the iPhone 7 Plus with a protruding dual-lens camera in an enclosure shaped like a pill. There are also rumors that there will be no 16 GB model for the upcoming iPhone 7 and instead there will be a 256 GB one.

Apple has unveiled the iPhone SE this week and experts say that the smartphone will be this year's big phone - not the rumored iPhone 7, which is slated to be unveiled in September. The Cupertino-tech giant is offering a cheaper iPhone 6S version which could prove to be even more important than the upcoming flagship phones for the next few years. The iPhone SE could be Apple's attempt to tap into new markets. Many experts agree that it could push the brand further to developing markets like China and India.
