Gionee S8 and W909 Smartphone Set to Launch in China on March 29

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has confirmed that its upcoming devices - the Gionee S8 and Gionee W909 - will be available in China starting March 29. The Chinese company announced recently that it will be holding an event in China on the said date.

The Gionee S8 smartphone was unveiled last month during the Mobile World Congress 2016 event that was held in Barcelona, Spain.

The device features a 5.5 inch Full HD 1920 × 1080 pixels with Super AMOLED 3D Touch Display and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the screen panel. it is powered by a 64 bit 1.9 GHz Octa core MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 Processor paired with 4GB of RAM. In terms of graphics, the device comes with Mali T-860 GPU on board enough to handle 3D graphics for gaming.

Gionee S8 smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED Flash and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), while the front camera of the device comes with an 8-megapixel snapper. The handset comes with a built-in 64GB internal memory onboard, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

On the other hand, the Gionee W909 smartphone features the Helio P10 (MT6755) processor paired with 4GB of RAM inside. The smartphone is expected to have two touchscreens display and a fingerprint scanner. It will also feature a T9 physical keyboard alongside the dual screens. On the camera side, the Gionee W909 is said to sport a 16-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The handset will come with a built-in 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card.

Gionee S8 and W909 will be launched in China on 29 March. The prices of these devices will be revealed during the launch event.
