Samsung usually unveils new Galaxy Note series handsets at the annual IFA Berlin event which is often held in September every year. However, the Galaxy Note 5 was not announced at the 2015 IFA Berlin but in August of last year instead. Because of this, there are speculations that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 6 in July or August of this year which - earlier than the IFA 2016. This could be a good strategy for Samsung who achieved good sales with the Galaxy S7 after releasing it ahead of the iPhone 7 and other rival smartphones.

Another hint that the Galaxy Note 6 will arrive earlier than expected is the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 price cut on Walmart. The Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices are available at the store with a discount of $150. It is speculated that Samsung is clearing its Note 5 stock to make way for the upcoming Galaxy Note 6.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is said to feature an improved 12 MP camera with Super optical image stabilization system and 20 percent improvement in camera stabilization as well as high resolution photos and videos in low light environments. It is expected to come with a preinstalled Android N OS. The Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890, depending on the region, with 6 GB of RAM. It could also come with a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED screen with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a microSD card slot with 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB internal storage. It is also speculated to feature a pressure-sensitive screen with 1024 pressure points, similar to its rival smartphones.
Samsung could release its first 4K-enabled handset with a fingerprint sensor along and its usual S-Pen stylus, which is the company's competitive edge against the Apple Pencil. Lastly, there are reports that Samsung is manufacturing a 256 GB UFS 2.0 memory chip which could be installed on the upcoming Galaxy Note 6.
