Charlize Theron Joins ‘Fast and Furious 8’ as the Franchise’s Latest Villain

Charlize Theron is set to star as the newest villain in the upcoming action-thriller film 'Fast and the Furious 8.' She will star alongside new and returning cast members Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jason Statham, and Kurt Russell.
Variety reported that the upcoming eighth installment in the 'Fast and the Furious' action franchise has recently signed Oscar-winner Charlize Theron to its new casting line-up. No other details have been released regarding Theron's new character aside from the fact that she is set to play the villain.

The actress is best known for her work on several action films such as George Miller's 'Mad Max: Fury Road', Karyn Kusama's 'Aeon Flux', and Peter Burg's 'Hancock.' Her versatility has also landed her roles in several romantic dramas, thrillers, and science-fiction films.
Theron is set to reprise her role as the evil Queen Ravenna in Cedric Nicolas-Troyan's 'The Huntsman: Winter's War' scheduled to debut on April 22 in the United States.
This would be the second collaboration between Theron and 'Fast and Furious 8' director F. Gary Grey after the two worked together on the 2008 film 'The Italian Job'. According to Entertainment Weekly, it may be possible that Theron would me making multiple appearances in the next couple of films lined up in the series but no official announcement has been made as of the present.
According to another article on E!, Vin Diesel confirmed that a ninth and 10th installment would be underway as part of the planned final trilogy in the highly popular action series. 'Furious and Furious 9' is slated to hit theaters on April 19, 2019 while 'Fast and Furious 10' will follow on April 2, 2021.
'Fast and Furious 8' is an upcoming action-thriller film intended as the first in a planned final trilogy in the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise. F. Gary Grey of 'Straight Outta Compton' fame is set to direct the film based on a screenplay penned by Gary Scott Thompson. It is scheduled to be released on April 14, 2017.
