Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu on Wednesday unveiled its newest flagship device, the Meizu Pro 6. The Pro 6 looks hauntingly similar to the iPhone 6S and it also supports one signature feature from Apple's flagship smartphone, the 3D Touch feature.

Unlike Apple's 3D Touch, Meizu called its own version of the feature 3D Press. The feature can be used to pull up the shortcut menu, preview emails, photos, websites and other contents. Not surprisingly, fellow Chinese apps like Weibo, WeChat and QQ immediately showed their support for the technology and will integrate it on their platform upon launch.

At a quick glance, the shortcut system of the Meizu Pro 6 is almost similar to the iPhone 6S Quick Actions feature. It even blurs out the surrounding home screen, just like what it does in the iOS.

While some tech analysts may brand the Meizu Pro 6 as a direct copycat of the Apple iPhone 6S, the former can stand on its own in terms of hardware specs and it may even outside its rival.

At the heart of the Meizu Pro 6 is the world's first 10-core mobile chip called the MediaTek Helio X20. Meizu was able to strike an exclusive deal with MediaTek. Despite the massive computing power of the Pro 6, it will only cost $390 off-contract once it starts to ship.

Other specs of the smartphone are also equally impressive. According to The Verge, it has a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display screen which is protected by the 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. It has 4GB of memory and internal storage space starts at 32GB.

Like the iPhone 6s, the Meizu Pro 6 has a fingerprint scanner located on the lower-front of the device. It supports LTE Cat6 radio and a USB 3.1 Type-C port which has a theoretical data transfer speed of up to 5Gbps. The only thing that separates the Apple 6s from the Meizu Pro 6 is the former's support for near-field communication.
