The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini was announced in July while the LG G3 S was launched a month earlier with its release expected in the third quarter.

Here's a comparison of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and the LG G3 S, also called LG G3 Beat and LG G3 Mini.

The Galaxy S5 Mini is powered by a quad-core Exynos 3 Cortex-A7 processor at 1.4 GHz and has 1.5 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the LG G3 S will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7 processor at 1.2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz UI.

Meanwhile, LG G3 S also runs Android 4.4.2 but while the Galaxy S5 Mini has 16 GB in-built memory, the LG G3 S only has 8 GB of internal storage.

Both handsets have a microSD card support of up to 64 GB.

The Galaxy S5 Mini has a 4.5-inch Super Amoled display with 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution and 326 ppi pixel density. On the other hand, the G3 S will have a 5-inch IPS LCD of the same resolution with 294 ppi pixel density.

Both handsets have an 8 megapixel camera unit with LED flash. Galaxy S5 mini sports a 2.1 megapixel front camera while the G3 S has a 1.3 megapixel front snapper.

The Samsung smartphone has a Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery unit while the LG handset has a Li-Ion 2540 mAh battery unit.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini costs about US$646 for its 16 GB variant while the LG G3 S is priced at US$495 for its 8 GB model.
