The Miss Hong Kong 2014 finals pageant is underway with finals scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 31. 

Preliminary activities were causing quite a buzz. Lukfook Jewelry, an event sponsor, has given the candidates a chance to try on their luxury diamond products.

However, with the impending finals pageant, it couldn't be helped that the contestants would be subjected in a variety of rumors and not all of them are always good.

Katherine Ho, who holds the #7 spot in the lineup of contestants, is a law student. Along with that, she is rumored to be a heavy partier when she was still a university student. According to some statements, the contestant has been seen often wearing low-cut dresses to her classes which is a less than proper conduct for university students.

Others say Ho has been seen attending formal banquets wearing the same kind of attire that allegedly made people around her ashamed and embarrassed.

In response to the attacks on her dressing etiquette and conduct in gatherings, Ho said she usually dresses casually for school and only wears dresses during formal events.

During the Lukfook Jewelry event, Ho has also had a slight wardrobe malfunction wherein the locks of her bra showed from behind the dress she was wearing. Despite the rather embarrassing feat, the contestant said she was very confident she will make it to the top three on the finals pageant.

On the other hand, another hot topic among the aspiring Miss Hong Kong beauty queens is contestant #12 Janet Choi. According to gossip news, she had been involved in an extra-marital affair, playing the third wheel and coming between a married couple.

Choi refuted these claims and also said that her modeling career had been launched by an airline company. She adenied the rumors that she got help from a celebrity. Other than that, she also stated that she is allergic to alcohol and that she doesn't smoke.
