Apple has already unveiled the new 12-inch MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Air lineup this year without a launch event.

In 2015, Apple introduced a 12-inch MacBook and reports claim that it simply upgraded this version with a sixth gen Intel Core M processor this year. It is now faster with 1866 MHz RAM than the previous version which worked at only 1600 MHz.

The new MacBook 2016 sports an Intel Core M3 1.1 GHz dual-core processor, 256 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. The other model comes with an Intel Core M5 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 512 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. It costs 1299 USD and 1599 USD, respectively.

The Intel HD 515 graphics is more efficient by 25 percent than the previous version and the MacBook 2016 also comes with a Rose Gold color option. It has an improved battery performance which can last 10 hours of internet use and 11 hours of iTunes video watching.

The MacBook Air has always been one of the most popular computers, and while it has become more affordable at 999 USD, it has been complained to have a low-resolution 1440 x 99 display and a meager 4 GB of RAM. Now the MacBook Air 2016 already comes with 8 GB of RAM.

However, it appears unlikely that Apple will upgrade the MacBook Air's resolution. It has not been upgraded since 2010 and the company's more recent devices now offer almost double that resolution. Meanwhile, it is also rumored that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be launched at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this June.
