Speculations abound that premier NBA point guard Mike Conley is going to leave the Memphis Grizzlies when he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer and he could end up in Milwaukee as the Bucks are set to let go of guards O.J. Mayo and Greivis Vasquez this summer.

The 28-year-old Conley had been playing in the league for nine years now without an NBA title and this season is said to be "a disaster", as per Fansided's Justin Rowan, for the fourth overall pick of the 2007 draft.

Memphis managed to enter the playoffs as the seventh-seeded team, but the squad is a sinking ship, being manhandled by second-seed San Antonio Spurs, 2-0, in their first round series, with center Marc Gasol still recovering from injury and power forward Zach Randolph aging.

Couple that with the fact that Conley is on the final year of his five-year, $40 million contract with the Grizzlies which will make him available during free-agency this July and the possibility of seeing him with another team next season goes higher.

The report noted that one of the potential destinations for the former Ohio State standout would be the Milwaukee Bucks as the team is set to become short on backcourt men as the team said to have "failed" on their gamble with Michael Carter-Williams.

ESPN said that shooting guard Mayo and backup point guard Vasquez "likely won't return" next season, which means that the Bucks will be overwhelmingly lacking outside shooters and ball handlers.

It was also mentioned that Carter-Williams and center Greg Monroe could also be shopped in the offseason and so the need for a quality point guard would be evident.

Rowan said that Conley would be an ideal fit for Milwaukee's young core of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, and Khris Middleton mainly as a "reliable floor general that can disrupt the opposition at the point of attack" and also to give them "playoff experience similar to what Kyle Lowry has done in Toronto".
