Filming for director Rian Johnson's upcoming addition to the main 'Star Wars' franchise has already commenced. There are rumors that Daisy Ridley's Rey may be training to become a Jedi under Mark Hamill's legendary Luke Skywalker based on the final scene in J.J. Abrams' preceding 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.'
Photographs from the filming set in Ceann Sibéal, Kerry were recently published on Making Star Wars. The leaked images show intricate sets perched on sprawling cliffs. One of them looks to be the ongoing construction of an ancient Jedi Temple. Another set of photographs revealed Han Solo's famous Millennium Falcon.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that the new film would focus on Luke Skywalker and his newly acquired powers. According to MovieWeb, a source disclosed that one of the First Order members from the previous film will be making an appearance in 'Star Wars: Episode VIII.' There are talks that the evil Kylo Ren will be making a comeback and may get a taste of Luke's powers.
The source went on to reveal that Kylo Ren will have a "conversation" with Rey that Luke will disapprove of. Luke subsequently blows up an Ahch-To hut using the Force.
'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film written and directed by Rian Johnson. It stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and Gwendoline Christie. It is scheduled to be released on December 15, 2017.
