(Photo : Getty Images) Microsoft has come under criticisms in China for promoting automatic upgrade to Windows 10.
Tech giant Microsoft has announced its acquisition of Italy-based Internet of Things company Solair. The company was founded back in 2011 and is a user of Microsoft's Azure cloud computing platform.
The acquisition did not entirely surprise the tech community, given the fact that Solair already has knowledge of Microsoft's Azure services. Tech experts believe that Microsoft will add Solair technologies to it's Azure IoT Suite.

As of this writing, Microsoft is yet to confirm what it plans to do with Solair. The tech giant only said that it is "excited about their technology and talent - and delighted to welcome them to the Microsoft team."
The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed by both parties.
Although Solair is not a big name when it comes to the tech industry, the company has already worked with a wide range of clients. Among these are Italian espresso machine manufacturer Rancilio Group and food processing machine company Minerva Omega Group.
In a statement, Microsoft's Azure IoT partner director Sam George said, "Solair shares our ambition for helping customers harness their untapped data and create new intelligence with IoT, and this acquisition supports our strategy to deliver the most complete IoT offering for enterprises."
Among the services offered by Solair include full suite of Internet of Things products like collecting data and an enterprise platform for custom deployments and integration with existing services.
Microsoft has acquired Solair while other big tech firms are building their own cloud services in order to pave the way for the future of devices that will run on the Internet of Things platform. Many analysts agree that Internet of Things is the future of the tech industry and tech giants like Microsoft are making sure that they establish their own infrastructure before the time comes for the platform to be part of the mainstream consciousness.
Cloud services like Amazon Web Services, Oracle and Salesforce are betting big on the future of Internet of Things and have already started their own cloud infrastructures.
