The highly anticipated 'Final Fantasy XV' will hit stores this September, but video game publisher Square Enix is gearing fans for a surprise look back at the past before that big date. Gamers on the PC platform will be pleased to know that Square Enix recently announced that it will release the HD remastered version of 'Final Fantasy X' and its direct sequel 'Final Fantasy X-2' on Steam.

The HD remastered version of 'Final Fantasy X' and its sequel was released on the PlayStation 4 console last year. Aside from its completely remastered graphics, the HD remastered version of the games will also get a remastered soundtrack and a few bits from the "International Editions" like a special boss fight mode for 'Final Fantasy X.'

The HD remastered version of the two iconic video games are also expected to include cheat codes, an auto-save feature, and five game boosters like the no encounter mode and high game speed.

Square Enix is yet to confirm whether the new Remastered versions of the games will also feature an improved voice acting. The publisher is yet to also confirm the official prices yet. However, based on previous games released by Square Enix that were ported to the PC platform, it should have a price somewhere between $12 and $20.

'Final Fantasy X' and 'Final Fantasy X-2' for PC will be released on May 12 on Steam.

Before this upcoming PC release, 'Final Fantasy X' and 'Final Fantasy X-2' were released on platforms like the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita. While these ports were received quite well in terms of sales figures, the same cannot be said od critical reviews. Gamers and critics noticed several glitches and bugs, which affected the overall popularity of these ported games.
