‘Minecraft’ Gets ‘Super Mario’ DLC

Sandbox ‘Minecraft’ Game is Finally Coming to the Nintendo Wii U

There are reports that 'Minecraft' is set to receive a new cosmetic downloadable content from another iconic video game title. The latest skin pack that will be added to the already colorful world of 'Minecraft' is from Nintendo's 'Super Mario Bros.' series.

The release of the 'Super Mario' downloadable content comes as a bit of a surprise to many video game fans. This is because 'Super Mario' is a product from Nintendo, while 'Minecraft' is a product from Microsoft, and the two tech companies have been tough competitors - especially in the video game industry.

The 'Super Mario Mash-Up Pack' will be released for free download exclusively for the Wii U version of 'Minecraft.' The downloadable content is slated to be released on the flagship Nintendo console on May 17.

The 'Super Mario' downloadable content will be available for retail on discs on June 17 for $30.

The 'Super Mario Mash-up Pack' will include 40 Mario-themed skins, new world and item textures, all inspired by the 'Super Mario' series. The downloadable content will also include 15 pieces of music taken from the 'Super Mario 64' video game.

This is not the first time that Nintendo has loaned its 'Super Mario' characters to third-party developers. The Japanese company have shared its iconic characters to notable video game companies like Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix. Although the companies mentioned made their own Mario-themed spin-offs, Nintendo reserves the rights to publish all those games exclusively for its systems.
