The iPhone 6 will launch on Sept. 9 and, according to reports, some of its features were developed for years.

One of these is its mobile-payment system that allows users to pay on the go using just their iPhones rather than wallets.

NFC is said to be more than just payments. A lot of products already use this technology to connect smartphones and peripherals and NFC is a lot better than the Bluetooth.

It's used by different transit payment systems and may replace more cards in the future. A lot of hotels already have smartphone-based keys and iPhones having this technology will be good because of its spillover advantages to Android users, as well.

According to Re/code and Bloomberg, Apple has agreements with American Express, MasterCard and Visa. Bitcoin apps in the AppStore could offer a way to add cash to an iTunes account by visiting an Apple store. Cnet is excited about NFC.

According to tech blogger John Gruber, the resolution of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be 1334 x 750 pixels with 326 ppi while the 5.5-inch display will have a 2208 x 1242 pixels with 461 ppi.

He explained the numbers were arrived though analysis of how Apple views the user interface elements of iOS.

He said the elements are not in pixels but in virtual points, each of these on the Retina display represented by a 2 x 2 pixel square.

On the 5.5-inch display, it would be 3 x 3 pixel square, having similar "point resolution" of 163 ppi. Apple's tappable target is consistent at 44 x 44 points.
