Recent trade rumors have emerged that there is a possibility Boston could snag Chicago Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler in the offseason but the Celtics would have to pay a high price to pull it off.

Mass Live reported that Butler "could be available" for Boston if they are willing to pay the right cost as he "cautioned" that legitimate stars "won't come cheap" in the NBA.

The report cited CSNNE's Chris Mannix as saying that the Celtics will have to be prepared to shell out "a very rich price" in trying to "get in the mix" for the signature of the top free agents this summer, such as Butler, Kevin Durant, or Paul George.

It then specifically mentioned the team's no. 3 overall pick in the coming draft this June and a bevy of their young players to be added in a package to try and persuade any team to give up one of their superstars, including Chicago.

Mannix said that he thinks the Celtics have enough assets to offer on a trade for a legitimate superstar but it will all depend on how much the team is willing to give.

"Do you want to give up this first-round pick plus next year's swap rights with the Brooklyn pick? How much is too much blood to give up to get a potential franchise player? That's the decision Danny Ainge has to make but man, it's going to be a lot of fun watching him operate this summer," said Mannix.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports suggested that one way to lure this offseason's top free agent, Durant, to their side is to make a major move similar to the one Boston did in 2007 to assemble the Big Three of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett.

Ainge traded the fifth overall pick during that year's draft and a couple of his players to snatch Ray Allen away from the Seattle Supersonics. With Allen in the team, Garnett immediately wanted to join them as it was a chance for him to win a championship, which eventually happened.

The same could be done this year if Ainge is up to it. He can trade the top three pick and some of his young guns to get Butler and then present it to Durant to try and lure the 2014 MVP to try and win the NBA title with them in the coming seasons.
