After being delayed for a couple of times, the long wait for "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is finally going to end as the game's developer DICE has announced that the game will be released on June 7. The game will be simultaneously released on the Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
DICE released a gameplay teaser video that highlights some of the game's gameplay mechanics, according to Polygon. While some video game analysts have described the trailer as a bit boring, some, especially hardcore fans of the game, called it spectacular.

"Mirror's Edge" has this unique aura of visual and color language. That alone makes the game stand out on top of other first-person video game titles. The game's convincing combination of freerunning, speed, and extreme height makes it an exhilarating ride for any gamers who happens to enjoy it.
In a statement acquired by Engadget, DICE design director, Erik Odeldahl said, "I find it extremely nice to just climb somewhere really, really high up and then just stand still there and actually just look at the city. Since it's been part of my life for so many years now, I'm basically really, really happy seeing the city and seeing that it works and everything is connected."
Odeldahl is considered the main mind behind "Catalyst," which has been labeled as a reboot instead of a sequel to the first game. Odeldahl has also been monumental in integrating a nonlinear narrative into the new game since he believes that it will make the game larger than its predecessor.
The original "Mirror's Edge" was released in 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game became a cult classic, and its massive fan base has been expecting the reboot for quite some time. Fans even have specific demands for the developer of the game. Some of which include more freerunning, more characters to interact with, and a larger city to explore.
