Apple has already released invitations to its Sept. 9 press event but people are still guessing when the exact release date is. Analysts said that one of the 5.5 or 4.7-inch models will be out in the shelves on Sept. 19.

Customers have already started lining up at Apple's store along Fifth Ave., New York. Pre-order is said to start on Sept. 12. Both handsets are expected to be launched at the same time but the phablet possibly named the iPhone Air or iPhone 6L might be released later than September due to production delays.

The Apple press event is scheduled only a week following Samsung's unveiling of the Galaxy Note 4 on Sept. 3 in Berlin. Both Samsung and Apple have supersized their devices with bigger specs, screens and features. Samsung focused on key fixes and updates from the Note 3 whereas Apple is said to completely change the iPhone design and software with iOS 8 likely loaded out of the box.

Apple also needs to focus on a solution when a massive celebrity nude hack hit the Internet recently. Kirsten Dunst publicly criticized Apple and it could be damaging to the company if its brand is mixed up with controversies especially with celebrities. Previous reports said Apple's Find My iPhone security flaw is not built to resist strong attacks. Apple's deal with American Express will also let people do financial transactions through its e-wallet system and near-field communication chip included in the phone. The mobile payment system could potentially eliminate physical credit card and revolutionize smartphone use.
