It has been known that DC's animated releases usually come with a teaser or announcement of the next release in the animated series.

With this, comic aficionados are now anticipating the release of Justice League Dark, which was first introduced in 2011 as part of the First Wave title of The New 52.

The animated film features a team of supernatural superheroes including John Constantine, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Enchantress and Shade the Changing Man, who deal with paranormal threats and magical dangers.

Moreover, Justice League Dark is also set to have its own movie version titled Dark Universe, which has been in the pipeline for quite some time now. The film was first introduced in 2013 with Guillermo del Toro as its director. The filmmaker also submitted a script for the film in 2014 before opting out of the project.

There were rumors that Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor were being considered to play the lead role of John Constantine.

It looks like fans still have to wait for the arrival of Batman: The Killing Joke on Aug. 2 to confirm whether Justice League Dark will be the next animation feature in DC's animated universe.
