The upcoming Meizu MX6 is expected to be released on July 19, and several images of the device are already circulating online.

Based on new leaks, the MX6 back looks similar to the Meizu Pro 6 with its curved antenna lines. However, its camera differs from the latter as it has a standard LED flash rather than the Pro 6's ringed camera. According to Meizu co-founder Bai Yongxiang, the MX6 will be one of the best-designed mid-range smartphones with a similar hardware with the Pro 6.

Other renders show that the Meizu MX6 Ubuntu Edition Android version is coming soon. The MX6 will have a Helio X20 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, a 5.5-in 1080p screen, 12 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera with a 4,000 mAh battery.

Recently, the Meizu VP of Science and Technology posted a picture on Weibo, showcasing the MX6's camera capabilities in a closeup of a peacock feather. However, some have voiced doubts about the authenticity of the photo.

According to PhoneArena, an AnTuTu benchmark listing reveals that the Meizu MX6 has a 12 MP sensor, instead of the 20.7 MP of the MX4. Experts say this is not necessarily a bad thing because manufacturers like Samsung have previously chosen a lower resolution with bigger pixels to produce better photos.
