A new Chinese tech startup is planning to make parallel parking a thing of the past with its new invention - a robot that will help drivers park their cars.
Dubbed as Geta, the robot slides under the car, picks it up, and finds a space in a parking lot. It can squeeze in the tightest of spots. According to Notey, the developers of Geta claims that the robot needs only two minutes to park a car, it does not need tracks, has 360-degree mobility and can utilize a parking space better than humans.

The robot was developed by Yee Fung Automation Technology, which is based in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. The vision of the project is to help human drivers park their cars in tight spots.
The Chief Executive Officer of Yee Fung Automation Technology Marco Wu said that Geta can find parking spaces by simply transmitting signals to a computer which has a map of the entire parking lot. The computer then directs the robot to an available spot.
Many analysts agree that China's car population will grow to more than 200 million cars by 2020. The Chinese government has admitted that the increase of cars means difficulty in finding parking space.
In an interview with Reuters, Wu said, "There are many companies interested in our products, such as commercial property companies in Singapore and London, public parking companies in the Middle East, and developers, governments, as well as public parking companies in China."
