Apple's iPhone 6 launch event has passed and it marks one of the largest changes in the company's smartphone strategy.

It's still not known if its two large screen devices will help the company regain control of the smartphone market but undoubtedly, expectations are high. Which of the rumors and leaks appear to be true?

In previous months, the press named the next-gen Apple iPhone as the iPhone 6. Plenty of images and videos were leaked and there were even live shots showing the device's camera, settings and health apps just a day before the release.

It was also believed Apple will have an NFC-based payment system in the iPhone 6.

Feld & Volk gave the public an early look of the device by assembling it with the use of components and parts suggested by the leaks.

A couple of reports suggested the iPhone will have a new design with a rounded shape and an aluminum housing. There are rumors about a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch display, new A8 processor, 1 GB of RAM, Touch ID and a bigger battery.

People expected the iPhone 6 to come in three colors such as silver/white, space gray/black and gold/white. A new 128 GB storage option was also mentioned, as well as a sapphire glass display cover rather than Gorilla Glass from Corning.

Apple introduced the iOS 8 at the WWDC this summer but it saved several things for the iPhone 6 event.

It unveiled how the Health app will integrate with the Apple iWatch. iOS 8 will be released in the coming week ahead of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus release on Sept. 19.
