The smartphones are thin with the 6 Plus being 7.1 mm thin and the iPhone 6 being 6.8 mm thin. Notably, the iPhone 5S was 7.6mm thin.

The iPhone 6 has a new Apple 64-bit A8 chip which increases CPU performance by 20 to 25 percent and 50 percent faster graphics. It has the new iSight 8 MP camera which has a true-tone flash and new sensor.

It will be out on Sept. 19 in the United States with pre-orders starting Sept. 12. It's expected to be out in 115 countries before 2014 ends.

The iPhone 6 is priced at US$199 with a two year contract while the iPhone 6 will cost US$299 on contract, as well. The iPhone 6 was also previously rumored to have an amethyst Sapphire crystal display, NFC payment system, reversible USB Cable, 128 GB variant and to be water resistant.

People should also hold buying any Apple product until after the announcement.

Apple usually offer another refresh of other product lines and even if one doesn't have any interest in the iPhone 6, he should wait before buying a MacBook, iPod or any Apple device.

Those who have old iPhones should lock in a quote before the announcement.

A few hours before the announcement is usually the ideal time to get a buy-back, no-commitment quote.

Buy-back offers lower prices by about 20 percent within the week or longer. There are companies that pay a lot for used and old iPhones.

Every time Apple announces a new product, new scams and phishing emails increase by about 50 percent.

Thieves try to take advantage of consumers. Buyers should watch out for scams and keep in mind there aren't any big promos on new Apple products.

No one will give out new iPhones for free.
