Chinese e-commerce giant JD has announced that its current chief executive officer is leaving for the United States. Current JD CEO Shen Haoyu is moving to the US due to family reasons, and once he has relocated, he will take a lesser position within the company.
As part of Shen's decision to move to the U.S., he will be appointed as the president of the company's international business division.

According to China Tech News, Shen played a pivotal role when JD launched its business unit reform during the second half of 2015. The CEO also helped in the completion of the training of new business leaders.
Aside from moving to the U.S. to be close to his family, Shen is also expected to support JD's expansion in several overseas markets. Moreover, he will continue to support and participate in the company's other major interests.
Shen joined JD in 2011 after he was picked up to work as the company's chief operating officer. He helped build the company's complete operating system, as well as a large operations team that will compete with fellow Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba.
According to a recent report from Investors, both Alibaba and JD.com posted double-digit growth following the two companies' initial public offering.
