John Isner

Wimbledon Update: Will John Isner Break his Longest Match Record?

John Isner's CV has yet to include a grand slam win. Expectations are high on the 30-year-old being the only American in the top 20. He is, after all, "the hope" since the retirement of Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi and the legend Pete Sampras. But Isner hasn't even reached the semifinals of a grand slam and the only notable performance he exhibited was at the US Open in 2011 where he lost in the quarterfinals. It wouldn't be fair to compare Isner to the retired greats, of course, but the good news is, Isner may be on his way to another record-breaking feat. And we're not talking about a grand slam win here.

Rafael Nadal

Wimbledon 2015 Update: Rafael Nadal's All-England Woes: Will the Champion Bounce Back?

Rafael Nadal is out of Wimbledon. The former champion bowed out in four sets to the "dangerous" Dustin Brown with the score of 5-7, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6. The German, who has beaten Nadal in the past, played a solid serve and volley game, using drop shots and sliced forehands at every opportunity to overpower the Spaniard. Brown, who managed to maintain an exceptional form throughout the match, also took advantage of Nadal's poor serve with aggressive responses.

Eugenie Bouchard

Wimbledon 2015 Update: Is There Hope For Eugenie Bouchard?

When a young player enters the tour and does well in the grand slams, you'd expect that player to break records, rise to the top, and stay consistent. But it's not the case for Eugenie Bouchard who had a strong 2014 with a WTA tournament win and a Wimbledon Final plate under her belt. This year, she only had one notable performance - reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals. But it all went downhill from there and now she's out of the most prestigious of all grand slams, a heartbreaking first round loss at the hands of a Chinese qualifier.

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal Advances; Keeps Wimbledon Hope Alive

It's unusual for Rafael Nadal to be slam-less. Since 2005, the Spaniard has at least won one singles grand slam crown, but it's a different story so far this year as he heads into Wimbledon as the 10th seed. Despite his grass court triumph in Stuttgart, speculations of an early Wimbledon exit have been looming. Nadal, however, silenced his critics by defeating Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets to advance to the second round.

Ana Ivanovic
