In one of the songs of the singer, he had a very confidential one entitled "Don't". Everyone wanted who inspired it or what prompted it and Sheeran did not directly say that it had anything to do about his ex-girlfriend or that it was from a member of the One Direction band.

It was expected that the prestigious VMAs would be paying a kind of tribute to the late actor Robin Williams but the 20-second montage sparked outrage amongst the viewers. The tribute was slammed as 'disrespectful'.
