HTC One A9 owners in the United States have a reason to celebrate as the phone started to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat on Monday. The update was rolled out over-the-air to unlock models of the HTC One A9.

HTC did not say whether the update will also roll out to models which are tied to a specific network. Moreover, it did not confirm whether the update will be released to other regions outside of the United States, according to Tech Times.

NDTV reported that the update was confirmed by HTC vice president for product management Mo Versi through a tweet, which read, "HTC One A9 Unlocked Owners! We have received technical approval on the Nougat OS update, and OTA will begin tonight!"

HTC did not confirm if the update will be released in one single dump or will be staggered. One problem that usually occurs when releasing an update in a single dump is the unexpected traffic, which usually results in clogged servers and delays.

Among the most touted features of the Android 7.0 Nougat update are the ability to use Multi-Window mode, security updates, performance enhancements, improved notification panel, and bundled alerts. HTC did not say whether the company bundled some tweaks of its own aside from the ones included on the Android package.
