There are rumors that iOS 8 betas have already been jailbroken.

Jailbreak activities of Evasi0n don't seem to be too promising, hgowever. The Evad3rs team hasn't announced a thing.

It's safe to assume that the Evad3rs or PanguTeam could release the jailbreak build after Apple releases its first iOS 8 patch. The earliest speculated release date is December.

It's tough to decide to update from a jailbroken iOS version to iOS 8, especially since the user will lose the jailbreak until an iOS 8 jailbreak version becomes available. It won't likely arrive until a couple of months more.

Upgrading to iOS 8 can offer the user a lot of new features such as improved notifications and iMessage enhancements.

Before a user updates his iPad or iPhone to iOS 8, the device must first be backed-up and the best way to do it is through iTunes.

A full restore is also recommended to prevent updating issues. Without wiping out the device first, there could be problems while updating such as boot loops and update freeze. The user may also want to avoid over-the-air updates.
