One of the most prominent features of the iPhone 6 is the display.

It's much bigger than the iPhone 5S display and is also a lot sharper. DisplayMate's Raymond Soneira tested the iPhone 6 to find out how much Apple enhanced its smartphone display since its 2012 iPhone 5 release.

He found that the iPhone 6 has the best LCD display in the market today.

The iPhone 6 Plus comes in second as the best smartphone to score all green, which is the excellent and very good rating. The categories are display sharpness at typical viewing distances, display resolution, color depth, pixels per inch and more.

The iPhone 6 display sports a 1334 x 750 resolution while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 1920 x 1080 resolution display.

While Soneira hailed the iPhone 6 display after the test, he said the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 remains the best overall smartphone display. The Galaxy Note 4 uses an OLED screen while Apple features an LCD. The Note 4 has a higher resolution screen at 2560 x 1440 and a bigger 5.7-inch display.

Samsung and Apple compete with UIs and it's more like a competition between the iOS and Android.

Both Android L and iOS 8 have significant changes from their previous versions. The iOS 8 has a more modern look while Android L has Material Design for a more intuitive and flatter UI.

The iPhone 6 packs on a 1.4 GHz Apple A8 dual-core processor while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 runs on an Exynos 5433 or 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. The iPhone 6 offers up to 128 GB storage variant while the Galaxy Note 4 has 32 GB of internal storage with microSD support of up to 128 GB.
