Samsung announced it will release the Galaxy Note 4 in several Asian markets this week.

The company confirmed the Galaxy Note 4 will first be released in its home market of South Korea on Sept. 26 and by the end of October, the device will also land in around 140 regions.

The changed release date came after Apple's announcement saying iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales grossed a record-breaking 10 million units in only three days (Sept. 19, 20 and 21).

Apple also announced the devices will also be released in more than 20 regions such as Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Isle of Man, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Liechtenstein, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, New Zealand and Taiwan on Sept. 26.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 already hit the shelves in South Korea on Sept. 26 and the device will arrive in China on all mobile carriers before the end of the month.

This is Samsung's expedited release and its first time to release a flagship handset in China ahead of other major markets.

The move is predictable since China is the biggest phablet market and Apple is scheduled to release its 5.5-inch iPhone in the country soon. Apple's pre-order sales topped 4 million units on its first day of launch and the company blamed the shortage of supplies for sales not exceeding the number.

The U.S. launch of the Galaxy Note 4 is still standing, which is on Oct. 17. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is also scheduled to be out in stores late October.
