Apple, Android Fans To Boycott Retailers Blocking Apple Pay

Retailers have made quick moves against Apple Pay, the new NFC payment service, in favor of their own CurrentC. Fans from both Apple and Android camps aren't happy, and have started to boycott certain retailers.
After what seemed like a good start for Apple Pay, retailers have gone full circle and are blocking customers from using the NFC service in favor of their own CurrentC service, which uses QR codes.

This has not gone down well with Apple fans, and more surprisingly, Android fans are not happy either. In a call to battle, both Apple and Android subreddits both have one top-discussion, about boycotting all retailers blocking Apple Pay.
The discussion started over at /r/Apple and was added onto /r/Android, for support in the effort. Combined, the two subreddits have over 600,000 readers and the boycotting effort has gained attention on other areas of the web, where Apple fans are not happy.
Currently, more than a dozen retailers have announced their allegiance to CurrentC, including: Gap, Old Navy, 7-Eleven, Kohls, Lowes, Dunkin' Donuts, Sam's Club, Sears, Kmart, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Banana Republic, Stop & Shop and Wendy's, alongside Best Buy and Walmart.
Almost all U.S. gas stations (apart from BP) have joined in on the deal - making it almost impossible to pay for gas through Apple Pay or any other NFC service.
The boycott attempt will label these brands unfit for use, even though it might be hard for people in America to go without Best Buy and Walmart, two of the biggest retailers in the country.
The hope is that by boycotting some of the smaller branches and sending in complaints, they will crack and allow not only Apple Pay, but all NFC payments to be used in the store. This would open up Google Wallet and other NFC payment solutions.
Currently, retailers do not like the extra payment Apple tags onto Apple Pay, and have decided to use CurrentC, their own brand. It is unlikely CurrentC will have the same mass appeal as Apple Pay or Google Wallet, considering the QR technology has been known for being inefficient and slow.
Apple has not given an official statement on the retailers decision to remove Apple Pay, but some have been calling for Apple to start blocking the retailers own apps from the Apps Store, if they do not comply with Apple Pay.
This would be a rather aggressive move against retailers, but not unlike Apple.
