Ringo Starr inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Former Beatles member, Ringo Starr, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a little help from one of his closest his friends.

The once mop-topped drummer who kept the Beatles in beat was inducted as a solo artist on Saturday night during a ceremony that was filled with brilliant performances and some touching moments. Starr is the last Beatles member to have been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, his former bandmates Paul McCartney, George Harrison and the infamous John Lenon have already been inducted decades ago.

During his time with the Beatles, Starr was always the fourth man, he was always the one in the background while the other three were thrust into the Hollywood limelight but now, he has been immortalized both as a solo artist and most importantly as a frontman.

Starr was inducted alongside punk rock band Green Day, Joan Jett, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

The most touching moment of the ceremony was when Paul McCartney came onstage to lead his friends induction. He was quoted saying "With Ringo you never really had to look, he was always there", Starr cheekily accepted the induction by saying "Hi my name is Ringo and I am a drummer".
The highlight of the night was when the last two living Beatles jammed to the bands hit song "A little help from my friends."

HBO will be broadcasting the whole event on May 30th.
