Meanwhile, Apple is being pressured to redesign the iOS 7. On the other hand, iOS 8 continues the flat design trend with its transparent glass look.
Design is subjective but Google is being more experimental and lively with Material Design.
iOS 8 has the iCloud Drive, which is a new cloud service that allows users to work on files from different devices and apps.
Siri is also said to be revamped while Health is the most significant feature of the new iOS 8. This only because of its useful functions but also because the Android platform currently doesn't have the same feature.
Android L will use Google Camera as the default camera app available for download at the Play Store.
It's easy to use but photography enthusiasts will not have ISO, manual exposure and shutter speed options. Buyers will have to be satisfied with Photo Sphere, Lens Blur, Panorama and HDR.
Meanwhile, iOS 8 has new features, including the shoot time-lapse video options and the control of exposure and focus independently. There is also a self-timer.
Apple focused on the new Metal graphics API on the iOS 8 to let developers design games which can run faster.
The Swift programming language rolled out for iOS developers s being used to develop streamlined apps.
On the other hand, Android has the new Android Extension Pack (AEP) and runtime. Android has the improved Battery Historian feature and given its bad battery management screen, iOS might still prevail in overall battery life.
