The Galaxy Note 4 may have a three-sided screen, according to recent reports.

ZDNet Korea said that Samsung's next generation flagship phablet will sport a small readable screen in the side. It seems to play up the company's hints that the fourth generation flagship phablet will be very different from the Galaxy S5 due to its unique form factor.

The YOUM display technology and the three-sided display are not new information. The features have already been talked about even when Samsung showed off a prototype at CES 2013 to tease and prove they're real.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch is beginning to generate excitement weeks ahead of Samsung's Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 event scheduled for Sept. 3.

It isn't confirmed whether the event will see the launch of Galaxy Note 4 or the launch of new wearables such as the Gear VR virtual reality headset and the Gear solo smartwatch.

Unpacked will be held in Berlin, Germany a few days ahead of the IFA electronics trade fair.

Rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 4 include a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440p QHD display, 64-bit Exynos 5433 or Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

It'll also have an Adreno 420 GPU or ARM Mali-T760, 20 MP sensor or 16 MP rear camera and 2 MP or 3.6 MP front camera, Ultrasound S Pen technology, blue or gold chassis, heart rate sensor, retina scanner and UV sensor running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat or Android L.

The Note 4 will draw power from a Snapdragon or Exynos 5433 processing chip.
