An amazing 11-year-old girl from England successfully delivered her mother's baby and went for school afterward - like nothing happened. How did she do it?

In a report by The Guardian, schoolgirl Caitlin Burke from Tamworth, Staffordshire in Birmingham is reported to have delivered her mother's baby on Tuesday when her mother went into labor inside their home. In another report by The Independent, Tara Knightley, Caitlin's mother, is reported to have started to feel contractions after her partner left to take their youngest child to his sister's home.

Caitlin called the ambulance and was instructed and guided by the ambulance staff over the phone throughout the labor. Baby Elsa-Monet, her new sister, was born at 7:17 a.m. Caitlin was also able to unravel the umbilical cord around her sister and handed her to her mother.

After the event, Caitlin went back to being a schoolgirl and attended her classes for the day.

For Caitlin, the event made her scared and shaky saying that she has never seen anything like it before. However, she was happy upon seeing her sister.

"When my sister was born, I was really happy. I think she's really cute and I love her very much," Caitlin said as quoted by The Guardian.

Tara Knightley expressed her pride for Caitlin. According to her, Caitlin stayed unperturbed despite her screaming in pain.

"Caitlin was just amazing. I find it difficult to put into words just what she has done for me. I started getting contractions so my partner left to take my youngest to his sister's house. But within 10 minutes of him leaving, my waters broke," she said.

"I knew that as soon as that happened it wouldn't be long before the baby was born. I told Caitlin to call for an ambulance, and they were telling her what to do over the phone. I was screaming in pain but Caitlin was calm throughout," Tara added.

Tara also noted that she wouldn't know what she would do if Caitlin wasn't around. Caitlin and Baby Elsa-Monet now share a special bond.

"I don't know what I would have done if Caitlin had not been there. I couldn't do what Caitlin has done at my age, let alone at the age of 11. She has such a bond with her baby sister now. She can't leave her alone and keeps saying how much she loves her," she said.

Delivering her baby sister has inspired Caitlin to aspire towards becoming a midwife when she grows up.
