After a three-year spell with the Hertha, the Congolese international initially signed a one-year contract with FC Hansa Rostock, where he played for the reserves during his first year, before being promoted to the first team in 2008.
He also played with Jena-based outfit FC Carl Zeiss Jena until 2010 before announcing his departure and signing for Fortuna Dusseldorf on a two-year contract.

Following his spell with the Stallions, he signed to Polish professional football club Wisla Krakow on a Bosman transfer from Romanian football club National Bucharest.
In 2008, the Australian football player signed for the SK Brann, a Norwegian football club. Thwaite was loaned to Melbourne Victory of the A-League, Australia's primary football competition.
