(Photo : Facebook/Gionee) The Gionee Elife S7 was launched back in April 2015, and the Elife 8 is set to be launched later this month.

The Gionee Elife S8 smartphone was recently spotted on GFXBench along with some of its specifications, which confirms the previous listing found on Geekbench. As the successor to last year's Elife S7 model, this device is expected to be unveiled during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Gionee Elife S8 smartphone with the model number "GN9011", will come with a MediaTek MT6755 processor (eight core Helio P10) under its hood, along with 4GB of RAM and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system pre-installed.

It will sport a 4.6-inch display screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution (Full HD). It will have a 16 megapixel camera on the back and an 8 megapixel camera on the front.

The device will pack an ARM Mali-T860 graphics processing unit and 64GB of built-in memory storage. It is worth mentioning that since these specs have not been confirmed yet by Gionee, it should be taken with a grain of salt.

The Chinese company confirmed late last month that it will officially announce the Gionee Elife S8 at the MWC 2016 event, and that the handset will be equipped with a "hassle-free photo-shooting" feature and a pressure sensitive display capability.

In the meantime, an alleged prototype of LG's G5 smartphone was also spotted on the Geekbench database recently, with the model number "F700". The Geekbench listing for this device shows it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon  820 chipset, 4GB of RAM and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box. The LG G5 is expected to be unveiled on Feb. 21 during the MWC 2016 as well.
