ZTE Launches Grand X Max 2 Smartphone in the U.S.; Available via Cricket Wireless

Chinese company ZTE has officially launched the affordable Grand X Max 2 smartphone in the United States market for a price tag of only $199.99 via AT&T's Cricket Wireless. As a successor to the original Grand X Max that was launched in 2014, the handset features a 6.0-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels (Full HD).

The device comes with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box, and measures 164.1 x 83.8 x 8.9 mm in dimensions. It is equipped with a 13 and 2 megapixel cameras on the back (dual rear setup) and a 5 megapixel shooter on the front. Inside, the device is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 chipset, and is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in memory storage, which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.
Additionally, it has a 3,400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, allowing the phone to charge up to 60 percent in just 30 minutes. Other specs include 4G compatibility, support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C port. The only color available for this phone is blue.
To compare the new model with its predecessor, the original Grand X Max came out with the same 6.0-inch screen size (TFT), but with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels (HD). This device, on the other hand, has an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and only 1 megapixel front-facing shooter. Inside, it packs a Snapdragon 200 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 3,200 mAh battery.
In the meantime, ZTE is expected to unveil a new high-end device - called the ZTE Axon 7 - at a launch event in China this May 26. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that this phone will also be making its way to the U.S. market.
