Recent reports claim that the next James Bond may be "Thor's" fame Tom Hiddleston, as the actor is said to be in talks for the 007 role.

A source close to the actor revealed that Hiddleston is currently in advance talks with the James Bond franchise in regards to the lead role. The same publication also cited that Hiddleston indeed want the role, which the actor has been saying in his past interviews. The report also noted that the James Bond role is open for other actors since reports are loud that Daniel Craig is not interested in reprising his role in the next Bond installment, Birth Movies Death has learned.

Meanwhile, Hiddleston's biggest break was when he played the role of Loki in the "Thor" movies, which led him to land on various roles including a lead role in BBC's miniseries, "The Night Manager." Hiddleston plays a secret agent in the series, which was said to be the reason why he is being considered to be the next British secret service agent.

A report on The Week did also note Hiddleston's statement in his interview with the Graham Norton Show. The actor said that the rumor about him playing 007 may have sparked by his role in "The Night Manager." In addition, the actor was seen together with Sam Mendes, who happens to be the director of the next James Bond film, and was also seen with the film's producer Barbara Broccoli, which clearly indicates that there is a possibility that he may be replacing Craig.

As of the moment, only a few names had surfaced as possible candidates of the next Bond movie. Aside from Hiddleston, the "Beast of No Nation" star Idris Elba and the "Mad Max: Fury Road" star Tom Hardy are also rumored to be considered to carry the film.
