"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 may see one major character being killed off in the finale.
In the finale episode for season 7, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) went inside the Armory vault with Enzo (Michael Malarkey) in their attempt to save Bonnie (Kat Graham).
Even though Bonnie was able to escape the mysterious vault, Damon and Enzo's bold move resulted in them killing tons of vampires.

The series ended with both Damon and Enzo's fates unknown to Bonnie, Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola-King) and Alaric (Matt Davis).
In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Julie Plec confirmed that she is not yet sure on how to write out Damon and Enzo's storylines for season 8.
She added that among all of the stories in the hit The CW series, Damon and Enzo's is the one that hasn't been sealed just yet.
Meanwhile, Plec talked about the mysterious creature that Damon and Enzo came face-to-face with while inside the Armory vault.
According to the exec, the villain's identity will be revealed in the upcoming episodes. As of late, Plec doesn't want to reveal the name of the creature.
"We are not calling it anything. We are waiting for season 8. I mean, internally, we're calling it something, but we're not telling people what it is yet. It's funny, this is the first time that we've done this little story trick where we're actually withholding the identity and mythology of the new villain from the audience before the next season," she told TV Line during a separate interview.
In other news, there are ongoing rumors that Damon will be killed off in the finale because Somerhalder already expressed his desire to leave the series after season 8.
It's also possible that without Somerhalder, "The Vampire Diaries" will no longer be renewed for season 9.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW sometime this year.
