Meizu MX6 to Feature Fingerprint Sensor, USB Type-C

Meizu has officially unveiled its MX6 flagship smartphone, a dual-SIM, more affordable version of the Pro 6.

The Pro 6 was released in April. Similar to it, the MX6 comes with a 10-core processor. The MX6 comes with an all-metal build with a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor which dynamically switches between processing group cores based on load. It also boasts of an ARM Mali-T880 graphics chip onboard, which is around 40 percent more energy efficient and 80 percent more powerful than the T760.

According to Meizu, the MX6 features a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and 401 ppi. Its full-in display also improves the phone's power preservation and multi-touch function. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the Meizu Flyme 5.2 interface. The phone also comes with a 12 MP Sony Exmore RSIMX 386 rear camera, a 5 MP front shooter, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of in-built memory. Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port.

The Meizu MX6 will hit the shelves on July 30 in China. It will be available in four color options: gray, silver, rose gold and gold.

The price of the device starts at $300, which is around $90 less than the Pro 6 which has a close 5.2-inch display with 423 ppi, Helio X25 processor, Mali-T880MP4 graphics chip, 4 GB of RAM and a 21 MP camera.

Meizu has also unveiled the Loop Jacket, a smart cover which will work with the Pro 6, MX6 and Note 3. It will be available with the MX6 on July 20 for $15.
