Redmi is the Chinese company's mid-range line, and fans are advised to keep their expectations realistic and not to hope for high-end specs. However, the Redmi Pro may again combine the company's usual impressive performance and competitive pricing this time.
A leaked teaser shows dual cameras on the back of an unknown Xiaomi device. Two Geekbench results did not show the name Redmi Pro, but the specs include Helio X20 MT6797M base chipset clocked at 2 GHz and 3 GB of RAM. A different variant showed a MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T clocked at 2.5 GHz and 4 GB of RAM. The Redmi Pro is expected to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
According to Xiaomi's post on Weibo, the company plans to launch another device before the month ends. It described the second device as a mysterious little friend of the Redmi Pro, which could be a Redmi Pro variant with a smaller screen size. Nothing else was revealed about it. It could simply be an accessory or possibly the company's way of distracting attention from leaked images of the Xiaomi laptop which are currently circulating online.
