Android 5.0 Lollipop Coming To Samsung Galaxy S5 in December

(Photo : Reuters) Samsung has not given any specific dates for Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout, but it looks like the Galaxy S5 will be first to get the update in December.
While HTC, Sony and Motorola have all been quick to announce Android 5.0 Lollipop coming to their high-end devices, Samsung has been silent on the subject. This has made a lot of people suspicious that there will be an elongated wait for the update to arrive.
A new report by SamMobile, one of the most reliable sources for Samsung news, claims otherwise. According to the report, Samsung will update the Galaxy S5 to Android 5.0 Lollipop before the end of the year, in December.

Samsung reportedly is already testing a new version of TouchWiz running 5.0 Lollipop on the Galaxy S5. TouchWiz will have some of the design UX changes on Google's stock version, but for the most part, this will be same old TouchWiz.
This has been the same for all TouchWiz updates, Samsung rarely takes into consideration the design language pushed by Google, preferring to keep their own "nature" aesthetic. That being said, there are some flatter tones on TouchWiz, showing Samsung is at least following the trends.
Android 5.0 Lollipop brings a lot more than a simple design tweak. Google has added 64-bit support, multi-user support on phones and ART runtime. ART runtime is important because it adds faster animation speed, and 5.0 Lollipop is full of quick animations.
Even though the Galaxy S5 is getting a quick update, there is still no evidence the Galaxy Note 4 or Note 3 will get updates in the same time period. This would be a shame, since Samsung normally focused on a group of phones, rather than the main flagship.
